Founding Chairman

Abdur Rouf Chowdhury

Rouf Chowdhury was the esteemed chairman of RANCON Real Estate & Sea Fishing Division. He was a visionary entrepreneur in the business world, revered for his unparalleled dedication to excellence and unwavering commitment to quality.

Under his visionary leadership, Rangs emerged as an iconic symbol of aristocracy within Bangladesh’s real estate industry, automotive industry, epitomizing luxury and the highest standards of craftsmanship. Abdur Rouf Chowdhury’s profound impact extended far beyond mere commerce; his visionary insights and tireless efforts reshaped the very fabric of the nation’s industrial landscape, ushering in an era of unprecedented growth and modernization. A distinguished graduate of MIT’s Sloan School of Business, he embarked on his illustrious career in the pharmaceutical sector, where his managerial acumen and foresight quickly earned him recognition. Subsequently, A.Rouf Chowdhury’s tenure at Jamuna Oil Company spanned a remarkable fifteen years, during which he played a pivotal role in revolutionizing Bangladesh’s petroleum industry and driving its economic progress forward. Throughout his remarkable journey, A. Rouf Chowdhury remained a beacon of integrity, humility, and patriotism, steadfast in his belief in a prosperous Bangladesh. Though he has left us, his indelible legacy continues to inspire reverence and admiration, serving as a testament to the enduring impact of his remarkable life and achievements.

Chowdhury had his dynamic foothold in the print media; he was one of the directors of Mediaworld Limited, the parent company of The Daily Star.

He was also the founding chairman of Rangs Group and Sea Resources Group.

Chowdhury is survived by his son Romo Rouf Chowdhury and two daughters Romana Rouf Chowdhury and Sohana Rouf Chowdhury.

Romo Rouf Chowdhury

Mr. Romo Rouf Chowdhury is a prominent industrialist and has been the catalyst, driving the changes in RANCON Holdings Ltd. in recent times while serving as the Group Managing Director. He has brought to the table a non-traditional and exemplary model in real estate developments. By doing so, he has not only established a company culture that sets the standard of a rewarding work environment but a purely result-driven company.

With an appetite for growth and drive for success, Mr. Chowdhury has been involved in many projects and ventures with a vision to make RANCON the leading conglomerate of Bangladesh. His sound knowledge in the real estate sector, coupled with his entrepreneurial skills, has steered his projects to offer exclusive designs, involve renowned architects, and yield consistent ROI, which has helped him gain public recognition.

Romo Rouf Chowdhury holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Durham University, England.

Mashid Rahman

Mr. Mashid Rahman is currently serving as the Divisional Director of RANCON Holdings Ltd. He is a visionary leader, under whose continuous supervision and monitoring RANCON Real Estate has come into being. He is the strategic spearhead of this company who oversees the business performance of this division and provides directional support to the respective CEOs.

Previously, Mashid worked as the Advisor to the Government of Myanmar in the Ministry of Transport and Communication. During a progressive career span of two decades. Mashid has had multi-disciplinary experience across North America, Africa, and Asia in the area of Business Development, Strategy Formulation, and high-value project implementation;

A pioneer certified Project Management Professional (PMP) in Bangladesh, Mashid Rahman has completed his BSC and MBA from Indiana University.

RANCON Real Estate Ltd. is the newest addition to RANCON Holdings Ltd. It was formed in 2022 with a mission to cater to the people of our country with housing solutions.

RANCON British Motors Ltd. started its journey as a sole distributor of the globally renowned British heritage brand MG in 2019. Together, MG and RBML will continue to push the boundaries of innovation and ensure service that are second to none.

RANCON Sea Fishing Limited initiated its journey in 2018 offering a vast array of frozen, exotic sea fishes combined with quality and professionalism. Marine Fish Preserver started its journey in 2018 with a mission to tap the untapped opportunities of a vast blue economy and translate sea resources into export earnings.

2017

RANCON Oceana Limited started its journey in full swing from the beginning of 2017 with a fleet of deep-sea shrimp vessels, a dedicated team of highly trained experts. With the vision of bringing “Excellence within and beyond” RANCON Electronics Limited has taken the legacy of the group forward by manufacturing home appliances, and creating a new brand ASTRA to compete in the local market since 2017.

RANCON Holdings Ltd. was formed to take a step forward and bring all its ventures under one umbrella.

RANCON started to roll the ball of building world class industrial park in 2014 with RANCON Motorbikes Limited for assembling Suzuki Motorbikes in Bangladesh. Within 4 years, RANCON built 3 more manufacturing plants in that area for Mitsubishi Outlander with RANGS Limited, electronics products with RANCON Electronics Limited and JMC trucks with RANCON Automobiles Limited.

2012

RANCON Motorbikes Ltd. has stated it’s journey as a sole distributor of globally renowned brand SUZUKI since 2012. From then RANCON Motorbikes Ltd. has been on a journey full of growth, promise and progress and now it is moving into manufacturing of Suzuki Motorbikes in Bangladesh.

Since 2002 RANCON Motors Ltd. has been the pioneer of luxury vehicle brand in Bangladesh with Mercedes-Benz. For the last 16 years RANCON Motors has been maintaining the brand reputation of Mercedes-Benz by complying with global guiding principles.

With a passion and enthusiasm for performance motoring, DHS Motors Limited was formed in 1994. Since then, Honda is synonymous with DHS Motors in Bangladesh. Today DHS Motors continues to provide Bangladeshi motorists with successive generation of better and more advanced Honda models.

Sea Resources Group (SRG) was founded in 1982 with the vision of establishing the deep-sea fishing sector in Bangladesh as one of the prominent contributors to the economy.

RANGS Industries has been one of the pioneers in bringing world class premium electronics home appliance products in Bangladesh since 1985. Since then, there has been no turning back and now RANGS Industries is operating successfully in the competitive market with brands like Toshiba, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic etc.

In 1979, RANGS Limited was awarded the sole distributorship rights for Mitsubishi Motors in Bangladesh. The century-old company based in Japan is renowned globally for its technologically advanced and futuristically innovative vehicles that come with the commitment to serve the best interests of its people.

1977

Shell Lubricant started its journey in Bangladesh in 1977 with Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation. Later partnered with Padma Oil Co. and exited from Bangladesh in 2000. Shell reentered in Bangladesh with RANKS Petroleum Ltd. in 2004 and became one of the leading lubricant brands in this country in a few years.
